Gala Day is fast approaching and will be held on Friday, 4th December.
For those new and old to Craigburn, Gala Day is an longstanding annual tradition at Craigburn Primary where students in Years 3 to 7 prepare and manage a range of stalls for other students to visit.
Being a student-led event, students are able to learn, practise and use a range of skills such as creativity, collaboration, enterprise, financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
Proceeds from Gala Day support a charity as chosen by student leadership group as well as funding a small outdoor project as determined by the students.
- Early Years (Reception – Year 2): 11.20am to 12.00pm
- Primary Years (Years 3 – 7): 12.05pm to 12.45pm
Staff assist with supervision on the day, however the management of each stall is the responsibility of each group of students who have been approved to run a stall on the day.
If your child is considering taking part by being a stall holder, please take the time to read the stall nomination information for parents and students. This was attached to their stall nomination form which was handed out today to interested students. A reminder that stall nomination forms are due by Wednesday 25th November.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 no food stalls will be allowed this year.
Please be mindful that lollies are not allowed to be sold or used as prizes as we aim to promote healthy eating, keeping in line with the Department for Education healthy eating guidelines.
Further information for families about Gala Day will be provided via an upcoming post closer to the day.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
